Coconut Lagoon is so special it should almost have its own category and rating. It is magical. We were not at all surprised on the day after we left the delightful Coconut Lagoon that it won an international travel award for responsible tourism. Our room was not just incredibly comfortable, but charming and beautiful. So lovely in fact, that I was miffed with myself as we left for forgetting to take a photo of the beautifully designed bathroom which was actually partly outdoors (note: fully private) with a tree growing in it! The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in.

We have visited this amazing property on a number of occasions and every time we say it's even better than before! Coconut Lagoon is an amazing eco-friendly lakeside resort where it is possible to relax amongst nature whilst eating the most amazing fresh, and healthy food suitable for almost any diet. All the accommodation is clean and it's such fun to be able to shower in one of the outdoor bathrooms listening to the birds. We always stay for at least a week and there is so much to do especially if you enjoy nature. The naturalists are extremely knowledgeable and happy to talk about the birds, butterflies, chipmunks, monitor lizards, etc or show you around the property with its lovely gardens, paddy fields and amazing wildlife. The staff are exceptional and make for this to be an extra special place to stay.

Can’t wait to go back’

We visited quite a few hotels on our 11 day tour of Kerala but this one topped the lot. The accommodation, service and food were superb. Half a mark lost for poor internet connection but that’s it!! The Naturalist, Saratha, was excellent as he did tours of the property, the butterfly garden and the birds - he was very knowledgable and pleasant. Anila, the entertainment co-ordinator was fantastic and not only showed me how to do some craft work but also did a beautiful henna design on my hand and showed me how to dress in a sari - no mean feat I can tell you! A most pleasant and patient member of staff! We have since moved on to what, on paper, is a more exclusive hotel but it just doesn’t have the homely and friendly atmosphere of the Coconut Lagoon and the beautiful surroundings and lovely accommodation in individual bungalows. Can’t wait to go back there!

We have stayed at Coconut Lagoon a number of times over the past 12 years or so, so we knew what to expect this time, although we were a little concerned following the disastrous floods of last August, when the hotel was under a metre of water for a week, whether there would be lasting damage to the area.

Falling short of words to express about Coconut lagoon...best place..v close to nature and full of positivity All the staff members used to greet us anytime n every time we passed...all so smiling and always helpful The naturalist showed us the resort so much in detail that you look forward for knowing more. Would really like to visit again.
