2. REDUCE WASTAGE

Choose to eliminate the dumping of consumable food in landfills by donating 'soon to expire' (best by date) food grains, provisions and tinned or packaged food.

3. FEED THE HUNGRY

Food retail service outlets can reduce dumping at landfills by allowing an NGO feeding partner to sort and collect the 'daily dumped' unsellable but safe to consume fresh produce, comprising of vegetables and fruits. This can often be used to feed the needy. The receiving NGO shall take responsibility for the food safety.

4. BREAKFAST FOR SCHOOL

Sponsor the most important meal of the day for school children from underprivileged backgrounds. This meal includes Egg or Milk or Banana or Uppet daily. Rs. 15 per child (inclusive of food and transport to school)

8. FOOD DRIVE

BFB will organise and support a food collection drive with staff of corporate organisations. The donor group chooses whom to give to, targets what food grain and how much to collect.

Donate personal hygiene or washing and cleaning agents so that the beneficiary is able to use their own meagre resources for other expenses.

1. FOOD FOR THE HOMELESS

A wholesome balanced meal for 200 people each daily on the streets of North Bengaluru. Bring Areas down in focus currently are: Hebbal under the flyover / Cantonment area / East railway station.

Daily 150 ml of Milk and 40 gms of cornflakes or grain cereal for children, youth and the aged.

Support a meal for a lower income youth or from single parent families at one of our feeding partner institutions. The meal is provided at schools and colleges during tuitions on Sundays only.

Sponsor juice or milk daily for students every evening at bridge schools. These children come from low income families, indigent labourers and others.

Treat one beneficiary partner with a special treat for a special occasion. Support with a cake / dessert / juice and biscuits and revel in the joy of giving.

Give 3 biscuits for lesser-privileged recipients either as mid-morning snack at school or as an evening snack with tea for our old aged homes.

Donate to allow an NGO to purchase fresh vegetables worth Rs. 5000 per month from a BFB sourced fresh food outlet. We will source the vegetables at the best price available and also document the process.
